Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We’re committed to making projects as close to carbon neutral as possible through sustainable and regenerative practices, and we work closely with our clients to integrate environmental thinking into our briefs from the offset so that we can reduce unnecessary waste and make more balanced choices.

We have formed an important partnership with Green the Bid to ensure that we are following best practices when it comes to delivering carbon neutral projects. Building longevity into the assets we produce is also key to building a sustainable project. From the offset, we work with our partner Event Cycle to identify the future life of anything created as part of our projects, donating used materials to local charities and community groups.

Cogs & Marvel Sustainability Charter Goals:
Change the brief mindset / Personal commitment

Venues
We try to work with venues that have a sustainability charter in practice, and make a point of bringing sustainability to the forefront of their planning.

Food & Beverage
Where possible, we will source organically produced local food. We will endeavour to ensure accurate ordering is managed, and ask clients to consider pre-order solutions to reduce waste. We will aim to display menus and dietaries on digital screens / event apps, and water stations will be made available on site.

Transportation
We will consider the form of transport required for attendees to get to your event. Where possible, we will ensure that venues are accessible via public transport lines.

Merchandise
We will endeavour to source merchandise locally in an ethical way. Where possible, we will work with small businesses to provide reusable gifting options as well as commissioned pieces that help to support local communities.

Resource Use & Waste
We will operate events with no single use plastics, and we will also build with reusable or sustainable materials that can be repurposed afterwards. Eco friendly packaging, structures, and decor will be used where possible, and waste management systems will be in operation on site. Additional catering that is usable will be donated to organisations such as Food Cloud, or otherwise will be disposed off correctly, endeavouring to encourage composting.

Emissions & Energy
Our team will work to conserve energy where possible, and we will maintain preference for venues that are making use of green energy.

Team
Our team will WFH when possible to reduce the carbon footprint of travelling to work. We will encourage the bike to work scheme as well as promoting the use of public transport rather than individual driving.

Local Impact
We endeavour to work with local producers and organisations to create a positive impact on the local economy.

In our efforts to both manage and improve our sustainability practices, we have formed important partnerships to work towards delivering carbon neutral projects in the future:

Sustainability Policy

COGS & MARVEL POLICY

Green the Bid - As a grassroots, non-profit industry organisation, members of Green the Bid commit to working together to share best practices in the sustainability space; reporting successes, and acknowledging hurdles when it comes to creating sustainable commercial film productions.

Event Cycle - Their mission is to reduce waste post event by repurposing and redistributing materials to charities and the event industry to encourage the adoption of a circular economy. They take unwanted event waste and give it a second life, from graphics to giveaways, planks of wood to plants, there’s a new home waiting for them all.
